| ABOUT ME Hello! My name is Katerina and I'm a Belgian-based artist of Russian origins, born in 1992. In an age of accelerating technological progress, we often ask ourselves: what does it mean to be human? Surrounded by bleak newsfeeds and media narratives, we often struggle to envision hopeful futures. But what if the silver lining we seek reveals itself on a deeply individual level, through our dreams? What if dreams can illuminate paths that our waking minds are not yet able to perceive?Many of us remember the feeling of waking from a pleasant dream and carrying its aftertaste throughout the day — sensing that some important answers and experiences were gotten directly to our subconscious. This is what I seek to evoke through my art: create, with each painting, a small portal into a dreamlike reality, inviting the viewer to enter a harmonious inner landscape and attune to subtle sensations. Working with oil paint in its soft and vivid tones, I explore the play of light and contrasts and create dreamy, joyful atmospheres that offer pause, immersion, and quiet optimism. |
